Thorsteinson, Oscar

Born as Asgier Thorsteinsson he became known as ‘Oscar Thorsteinson’sometime after his arrival in Canada. He was the son of Thorvaldur (called Valdi) Thorsteinsson and Ragnihildur Eyolfsdottir. Private Grant Ogemah enlisted in July 1916 and served in France and Belgium with the 44th and 8th Battalions. In an article published in the Kenora Miner and News on 19 December 1914, the name of William Tellingham appeared on the list of recent recruits for the third contingent. His identity nor service could be confirmed.
